The Czech-German Football Academy (Deutsch-Tschechische Fussballschule – DTFS) was founded in 2002 and has become a unique project of promoting football talent. At DTFS boys from Germany, Czech Republic and other countries learn how to play football together in a multinational team. In the so-called „Team Europe“ players may improve their sporting talent. But they also gather important international experience. They get to know the language and culture of their team mates. They travel together to other countries and play decent football teams abroad. DTFS does not work like a traditional sports school. It is set up as an open project. Football talents from various clubs may join us for training sessions, training camps, games and tournaments. We help players to develop on an international scale – beyond the training and games programme at their clubs at home. At tournaments Team Europe players may compete with international Premiership teams which they would hardly play at home. These could be top sides from the Bundesliga but also elite academies such as Ajax Amsterdam, FC Porto, Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United, Liverpool FC or RSC Anderlecht.

DTFS provides international learning with football in a fun way. By sport, our younger players get to know new cultures and languages. For the older ones we offer further education with football. They could study and experience our joint history with football, for instance. Or take part in international projects on the Holocaust.
